Shizune is the personal assistant and student of Tsunade. She ended up with Tsunade when her uncle Dan (also Tsunade’s lover) was killed. They have since wandered around before returning to Konoha when Tsunade became the 3rd Hokage.
Being close to Tsunade, Shizune is one of the few people whom Tsunade will trust with absolute certainty and confidence. Unlike Tsunade who tends to think with her heart, Shizune is level-headed, practical, and a rational thinker who tends to stress over details. She often gets comically worked up over any irrational decision Tsunade makes, particularly over Tsunade’s gambling habits. At the same time, Shizune also looks after Tonton, Tsunade’s pet pig.
In battle, Shizune’s weapons often uses jutsu involving poison. She can either blow poisonous mist or spit poisoned needles from her mouth at her opponents. She also has a hidden contraption hidden beneath her sleeves to launch poisonous needles at her surprised opponents.
A talented medic-nin herself, Shizune is also a quick and fierce ninja who fights for the honor of her master. But first and foremost, she fights to protect the Hidden Leaf Village and at any time, is more than willing to go against her master, Tsunade if necessary for the better good of Konoha.
